Starring a cast of prehistoric characters who have been colourfully described as “sub-zero heroes”, Ice Age delivers cool and comic animated entertainment.

Uniting this group, whose members would not normally give each other the time of day, is a quest that they embark upon just as the planet is about to undergo a major overhaul. Twenty thousand years ago, as glaciers spread across the Earth to turn it into an ice block, the animals start to flee south. One is Sid (voiced by John Leguizamo), a fast-talking sloth who’s slow in just about every other department and who is left behind when he oversleeps. When he gets into trouble, he is saved by Manny (Ray Romano), a moody mammoth, whose rough and woolly exterior hides a gentler soul.
