SYNOPSIS:
|
Starring a cast of prehistoric characters who have
been colourfully described as sub-zero heroes,
Ice Age delivers cool and comic animated entertainment.
Uniting this group, whose members would not normally
give each other the time of day, is a quest that
they embark upon just as the planet is about to
undergo a major overhaul. Twenty thousand years
ago, as glaciers spread across the Earth to turn
it into an ice block, the animals start to flee
south. One is Sid (voiced by John Leguizamo), a
fast-talking sloth whos slow in just about
every other department and who is left behind when
he oversleeps. When he gets into trouble, he is
saved by Manny (Ray Romano), a moody mammoth, whose
rough and woolly exterior hides a gentler soul.

SYNOPSIS:
| Hart’s War is a prisoner-of-war movie. It’s also
a murder mystery, a courtroom drama and it is pervaded
by themes of intolerance and racism. When a film combines
all these elements it has much to keep us involved.
There is intolerance from the other men when Lt Tommy
Hart (Colin Farrell), educated at Yale and son of
a US senator, is billeted with them at the German
war camp, Stalag VIA after his commanding officer,
Col William McNamara (Bruce Willis) tells him that
the officers’ quarters are full. As far as the suspicious
enlisted men are concerned, Hart is not one of them.
His background has kept him away from the fighting,
and he has been brought to the camp after being ambushed
by Germans while driving an officer on a routine mission.
Before his transportation to the camp, he has been
questioned and McNamara has doubts about the outcome
of that interrogation. |
